F is for flash: this small Retina features a small retractable reflector and uses AG-1 lamps. The functional selenium cell does not require a battery. This model was built from 1963 to 1964 like its near twin the IIF (Type 047).
A rotating ring graduated in meters and feet with small notches at the usual distance values corresponding to the portrait, group and landscape icons.
The shutter is a Prontor 500LK with speeds from 1/15th to 1/500th of a second (as its name suggests) plus a B setting; the lens is a Schneider Kreuznach Retina Xenar 45mm f/2.8
