Leica Paris returns: "Regarding your grey IIIC, given the delivery date to Berlin, after research, it is possible that it is a case that was indeed delivered to the army but not numbered because it was intended for an officer for personal use.It also seems possible that in this use case, the camera body does not bear the number "FL:xxxxx" and the German logo with "WaA217" on the case corresponds to a product category reference code from the Wehrmacht weapons office, affixed not by Leica but by the army corps upon receipt.
