HISTORICAL CONTEXT
The Plaubel Baby Makina was produced from 1911 to the mid-1930s
by Plaubel & Co., Frankfurt am Main — one of the most prestigious
German camera manufacturers of the early 20th century.
Serial #43274 places this example firmly in the late Baby Makina
production, circa 1928–1933 — the final years before the
introduction of the coupled rangefinder on the Makina II.
The blue viewfinder variant is a transitional feature appearing
on only a small number of examples from this period.
It is significantly rarer than the standard folding frame finder
configuration and highly prized by Plaubel specialists.
